Praise God, the AOG church 2nd floor was completed and in December 2017, it was an evacuation facility for the town of Buruanga where the community resided and slept through a catastrophic typhoon
BEFORE (2016)
AFTER(11.2017 – taken 2/3/2018) with Pastor Ramos Ansing
Background: The Yolando Typhoon of 2013 resulted in about 8’ flood in this church. Sunday service continues, however. In reviewing the property, it was evident that the land is lower than the rest of the town, resulting in flooding during the months of June through November. AOG church members were steadfast with the prayer request, to have a 2nd floor renovation for a Sunday Service and a parsonage for the pastor.
Goal: Add a 2nd floor to accommodate ministry and church service, avoid flood during raining season months (August – December). The parsonage on the 2nd floor has been renovated, but is not complete. The first floor can be used for youth ministry during non-rainy season. In March 2017, photos below were taken and a formal request along with budget was made to Servants of Christ International. Pastor Ansing in front of the church and notice that the property is much lower than the property to the right side, home of Ramona Tumaca (mother of Anthon) who donated the land to the church.
March 2017: Pastor Ramos Ansing escorted (Zenaida and Dante) to the Philippines National Bank to open an account for Pastor Ramos on behalf of the Church. The pastor never had a bank account and is his first time to have an account so SOC Philippines can transfer funds for renovation.
TESTIMONY of RAMONA TUMACA reported on Monday 3/13/2017
Ramona is the mother of Anthon, the courageous Filipino who approached me at Casa Pilar in Boracay. Ramona was full of the spirit and excited, as she expressed her testimony in tears. She could hardly stop talking for me to interpret what she was saying, through the Holy Spirit. Ramona does not read or write and early in her years, she asked the Lord, Jesus how she can dedicate her life to His Kingdom. She didn’t have any talent or skills and He responded “give simple things.” Her thoughts were she didn’t have any skills, but dedicated to give everything in her life to Him. At this time, she lived with her family in the town of Malay, Aklan, a township from Buruanga. They were supporting and tithing to the Assemblies of God Pastor. The town persecuted and stoned her family, as they were not tithing to the Catholic organization. She moved her entire family back to Buruanga where she owned a property and she donated the land to the Assemblies of God (AOG), Pastor Ramos Ansing and her humble home was next to the church. Non-stop, she exclaimed “alleluia praise our Lord, Jesus” full of tears and the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues.
THANKSGIVING CEREMONY on FEBRUARY 3, 2018
Danzena and 3 mission team BVC members (Maggie Woods, Pam Harms and Nadine Grosjean) visited and Pastor Ronald Tengco gave a powerful message from Psalm 84:10:
Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
The importance of one day (our last day), Pastor Tengco used an example of how Commodore Dante de Guzman’s life who could not rest until the completion of the church, then he passed on December 13, 2017.
I provided a testimony on “PRAYER” and how the AOG members were steadfast for 3 years, before I got there. Then, another 2 years of continued prayer before funds were received and facility completed.
God’s timing is always perfect; this facility provided evacuation in a recent typhoon in December 2017.
